Intensive Course - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

We now offer an intensive course in the Kalix Language, in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, December 21 - 28. Special material for Spanish, German or English speaking students, with sunny beach christmas theme. Contact professor Master Sten, president of the Kalix Language Community, for further details, or just show up.

The course starts with a first meeting at 18:00 on the 21st, at the Las Canteras beach, la Cícer, celebrating the viking new-year at the midwinter solstice, which 2010 will be later at 23:38 sharp. From sunset to solstice we celebrate our Old Norse past, together with Icelanders, Goths, Sveas, Danes, Norwegians, Celts and others of viking origin, with a Scandinavian beach party warmup. We will drink Bloody Mary and sacrifice (blót) our souls to Oden, Thor, Freja and the Solar God. We will also bring a friendly toast to the people of Sápmi and Kvenland for still letting us Kalix vikings occupy their land and speak our Norse descendant viking language. Always remember that the Salute word in viking languages is still Skull ('skååål'), while the vikings cut their enemies heads in two, and drank their blood in their freshly emptied skull, passing it around the team.

A couple of days later, we'll forget all about our horrific viking past and suddenly remember that we have have celebrated some nice guy called Christ for almost a thousand years. Even though we still kept the viking party name Yule rather than Christmas...

Whatever you chose celebrate, welcome to Las Palmas if you want to learn The Kalix Language from the deepest traditional teachers! :)
